MC acts as a solvent and extraction agent for lubricants , oils, mineral oils , waxes , resins , cellulose ester , caffeine , etc . in the metal-working, textiles , leather , plastics , pharmaceuticals and food industries . It is
also used as a component in paint stripping and metal degreasing agents , as propellant additive and in removal-agent formulations for the production of polyurethane foam.
